Danforth, Maine - Dale Eugene Fitzpatrick, 84, of Danforth, Maine, passed away peacefully with his family by his side, Sunday, April 27, 2025, after a long illness. Dale was born December 14, 1940, in Danforth, Maine, to Omar and Hilda Fitzpatrick.

He attended East Grand Lake School in Danforth. He graduated in 1958 as the class vice president, the carnival king, and star basketball player. Dale joined the Army in 1958 and supported the War station in Germany. After the war Dale left Danforth and moved to Hartford, Connecticut, where he lived and worked for many years. He returned to Danforth to take care of his mother, Hilda, in her aging years. Dale is leaving behind a quiet but deeply felt presence in the world. Though he lived much of his life in solitude those who knew him will remember his kindness, the sharpness of his wit and his quiet strength. His character and gentle spirit. He was a man of simple pleasures. He loved sports - the Boston Red Sox, Patriots, and the Celtics. He also took great pleasure in feeding his woodland animals and watching them from his living room chair, while he kept a pulse on the goings on in town. He loved his visits with his beloved sister, Carolyn and her husband, Dick; his cousin, Pete and his wife, Kathy; and his nieces and nephew and their spouses. He also enjoyed seeing his girls at the post office that took such good care of him, and his many friends he would visit on his daily trip to downtown.

Dale was preceded in death by his parents, Omar and Hilda Fitzpatrick; and his sister, Carolyn Snow of West Bath. He is survived by his brother-in-law, Richard "Dick" Snow of West Bath; his loving nieces, Carrie Hayes and husband, Sam, of Bancroft, and Lori Molt and Mike of Wiscasset; and nephew, Randy Snow and his wife, Jennifer, of West Bath.

A celebration of life will be held June 14 from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Danforth Livable Community Center, 26 Bancroft Rd., Danforth, ME 04424.
