He graduated from Edward Little High School in 1956. On June 29, 1957, he married Florence "Flo" Cloutier. Conrad worked many different jobs before starting at the National Biscuit Company in 1967. He worked at Nabisco for 27 years and was known as The Cookie Man, retiring in 1994. He was a member of many social clubs, most notably the Le Montagnard and The Webber Avenue Club. After being snowbirds for several years, he and Flo moved to North Fort Myers, Fla., in 2007. They joined many clubs while living in Windmill Village. Conrad had a golf cart and enjoyed driving from park to park. Every summer they returned to Lewiston to visit family and friends.
He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Florence; his four sons, Michael and wife, Debra Rice, of Bangor, David and wife, Rachel, of Sabattus, James and wife, Beverly, of Oxford, and Timothy and fiancée, Charlotte Morton, of Lewiston; a daughter, Debra Ann Reynolds and husband, Joseph, of Orlando, Fla.; two sisters, Claire Breton and partner, Roland Metayer, of Lewiston, and Helene Gendell and husband, Michael, of Auburn; one brother, Dennis and wife, Sharon, of Tennesse; six grandchildren, Renee Caron, Stacy Rivet, Brent Grenier, Shauna Grenier, David Grenier, and Joseph Grenier; 11 great-grandchildren, Mason and Ava Rivet, Mackenzie Grenier, Madison, Matt and Corbin Long, Ariel, Timothy and Nathalia Grenier, Aisha Caron and Malaya Lowery; as well as many nieces and nephews. The family wishes to thank D'Youville Pavilion 4 West's nurses, CNAs and staff as well as Androscoggin Home Health Hospice for the excellent care they provided Conrad during his stay.
Visitation will be 6-9 p.m. Friday, at Fortin Funeral Home, 70 Horton St., Lewiston. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 1 p.m. Saturday, at Holy Cross Church. Committal to follow at Gracelawn Memorial Park, Auburn. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the patient activity fund at d'Youville Pavilion, 102 Campus Ave., Lewiston, ME 04240.
