Clifford Harold Vining

Fort Myers - Clifford Harold Vining, 81, passed away from cancer on Feb. 4, 2018, in Fort Myers, Florida. He was born in Hartland, Maine on December 11, 1936 to Elsie (Baird) Vining Kinney and Nathaniel Vining.
He was married on January 5, 1957 to Thelma Sennett of Pittsfield, Maine. He served his country in the United States Army from 1959 to 1962. He was employed for 30 years at Cole's Express in Bangor, Maine. He was a member of the Rising Virtue Lodge and Anah Temple Shrine. He was an active member of the High Street Congregational Church in Newport, Maine, and an associate member of the Thomas Edison Congregational Church in Fort Myers, Florida. Cliff was the friend everyone called when something needed fixing or planning and was involved in overseeing countless projects for his neighbors, community and church.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Thelma; Two sons, Michael of Dover, NH and Mark of Worcester, MA; four grandchildren, Alicia, Ashley, Lucas and Adam; two sisters, Jacquelyn McCourtney of Rockwood, Maine and Venice, FL and Helen Springer of Wells, Maine; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister Anna Merrill of Deep River, Connecticut.
Services will be held in the spring in Newport, Maine. In lieu of flowers donations may be sent to the Cole Land Transportation Museum for the development of the Clifford Vining Memorial Scholarship, 405 Perry Road Bangor, ME 04401.
