Clifford "Kip" W. Higgins Obituary

Charleston, Maine - Clifford "Kip" W. Higgins, 74, passed away March 31, 2020, after a brief illness. Kip was the youngest of 16 children born to Lawrence and Geneva (Farmer) Higgins March 31, 1946. Recently, Francis and Nicky were witnesses to Kip's acceptance of our Lord Jesus Christ as his personnel Savior. Thank you Pastor Don Booker for leading Kip to Christ.

Despite Kip's physical deficits, he was willing to do his best at growing and sharing his garden and helping others when and where needed. Kip was a woodsman, working many years with his best friend, Ray Freeman. Kip had a creative side which was shown with the carving and sanding of walking sticks and canes, many of which he shared with others.

Kip enjoyed hunting and fishing with his brothers and many nephews. He was a Cub Scout, Boy Scout and a member of the Coon Hunters Club and the Charleston Vol. Fire Department. He attended Charleston schools and H.C.I.

Kip was predeceased by brothers, Donald, John, Theodore (Ted) and infant boy; sisters, Meriam Pitkin, Betty Bragdon, Ruth Fecteau, and Carolyn "Jean" Chesley. Surviving siblings, Theresa Tripp, Lawrence Jr., Marjorie Hagelin, Mrs. Robert (Alice) Leeman, Myra Champagne, Arthur "Pete", Francis and his wife, Nicky. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Francis and Nicky want to personally thank the staff at Brewer Health and Rehab, along with Northern Light Hospice, who were always there supplying our needs and comfort. A very special thank you to our nieces, Sheila Chesley, Sherry Blanchard and Shelley Gould. To us they became known as our "Earthly Angels". With the three of them, we coordinated our time so Kip was never alone for very long, even staying all night. Thank You ladies, your mom, Jeanie, would be very proud.
