Augusta, Maine - Charlotte L. Smith died peacefully July 13, 2025, at Gray Birch Rehabilitation and Long Term Care in Augusta, Maine.

She is survived by her daughter, Janet A. Deans and her husband, Robert; her son, James A. Jacobsen; her granddaughter, Samantha J. Deans; her grandson, Sean R. Deans; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her first husband, James E. (Eddie) Jacobsen; her second husband, Ralph E. Smith Jr.; her parents, Harold F. and Eileen Curtis; her brother, Arthur Curtis; and sister, Julia Jacobs.

She was weeks away from her goal of turning 90. Charlotte will be remembered as a beloved mother, grandmother, aunt, wife, and sister and to many, a dear friend. Charlotte spent the majority of her life in Maine and spent most of those days in the Bangor area. She loved her family, shopping especially with her grandkids and a coffee chat with friends or family.

A funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, August 9, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor. Interment will be in Mount Hope Cemetery, city section, Severance Rd. Bangor. The family invites relatives and friends to share conversation and refreshments at the Family Reception Center of Brookings-Smith, 163 Center St., Bangor, following the celebration of life.
