Dover-Foxcroft - DOVER-FOXCROFT - Charles E. Knight, 77, of Lookout Avenue died peacefully on December 14, 2013, after a brief illness with his daughter by his side.
Charlie was born in Rockland, ME on March 9, 1936, the son of Arthur Legrow and Carrie Mae (Small) Knight. He was raised and educated in Camden and served his country in the United States Army after high school.
Employed by the State of Maine and the Maine Turnpike Authority for many years, he retired from there in 1997.
Charlie enjoyed the outdoors, spending his time fishing, hiking, camping,
snowmobiling and riding his ATV at the family camp on Megunticook Lake in Lincolnville.
His wife Shirley (Brearley) Knight as well as his parents have predeceased him.
He is survived by his daughter, Denise E Thibault of Standish, ME, one sister, Dorothy Lewis of Camden, ME, along with several nieces and nephews.
A memorial graveside service will be held in the spring at Greenlawn Cemetery, Wiscasset.
