Stockton Springs, Maine - Charles S. Kneeland, 94, passed away with his loving family by his side on Sunday, July 25, 2021, at a Belfast Nursing Home. He was born on April 14, 1927, the son of Eva (Fayles) and Percy Kneeland.
Charles served two terms in the U.S. Navy and on the USS Bunker Hill during WWII. He was married to the love of his life, Sheila, for 73 wonderful years. He was a charter member of the Jerry Dobbins Post 157 American Legion. He was instrumental in forming MSAD 56 School District and served on the Board. Charles loved his gardens, playing cribbage and spending the winters in Florida. Charles had an amazing work ethic, holding several jobs at the same time to support his family. He worked at Viner Brothers in Bangor, and later retired as a Welding and Building Trades Foreman from the Bucksport Paper Mill. Most importantly Charles was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
He is survived by his loving wife Sheila (Spurling), three children; Stephanie Redman and husband, Scott; Jeffrey Kneeland and wife, Bonnie, and Gregory Kneeland, and wife, Bernadette; 5 grandchildren; Carrie, Jodi, Nicole, Ryan, and Stephen; 6 great-grandchildren; three sisters-in-law; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by one brother; twin sisters; one grandson, Jason Kneeland; and seven brothers-in-law.

In keeping with Charles wishes there will be no funeral services.
