Belfast, Maine - Catherine (Herrick) Moody of Belfast and formerly of Camden, passed away Oct. 27, four days short of her 93th birthday. She was born Oct. 31, 1925 in Blue Hill, the daughter of the late A.B. and Sadie (Billings) Herrick.

She graduated from George Stevens Academy in Blue Hill and studied nursing at Massachusetts General Hospital. Catherine, or Kay as she was known by many of her friends, worked with her pharmacist husband in their business, Camden Drug.

Catherine was active in the community and enjoyed volunteering; an avid knitter, she often created special items for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her home was always open to others, especially friends of her children as they were growing up. She was a good cook and loved flowers.

She is survived by two sons, David (Mary) Moody and Robert Moody, both of Massachusetts; five grandchildren, Brynne Rinaldi (Steve) of Florida, Sarah Pourian (Kia) of Massachusetts, Mariah Moody of Washington state, Catherine Robertson (Chris) of Bangor, and Elliot (Michelle) Hale of Bangor; twin sister, Lucy Ledien of Belfast; son-in-law, Bryon Hale of Bangor; 10 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

She was pre-deceased by husband, Charles Moody; daughter, Mary Hale and brother, Malcolm Herrick.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Belfast.

A celebration of her life will be held Saturday, Nov. 3, at 2:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church, 95 High St., Belfast. Interment will be in the Seaside Cemetery, East Blue Hill Road, Blue Hill, on Sunday, Nov. 4, at 1:30 p.m.

A reception will be held in the church vestry following the service.
