East Millinocket, Maine - Carolyn A. Tibbits, 86, passed away on May 26, 2026, in Dover-Foxcroft. She was born October 14, 1939, in Millinocket, the daughter of Carick and Edith (Stratton) Tibbitts.

Carolyn worked for many years at Sylvania's in Bangor, where she retired from. She enjoyed listening to music, and dancing. She was a long time member of the East Millinocket Congregational Church and very involved in many of the activities the church hosted throughout the years.

She is survived by her siblings, Donald Tibbits, Patricia Willey and her husband, Karl, and Helen Kelly; her nieces and nephews, Donald Tibbitts and Sally Duplisea, Catherine Hunter, Dina Moore and her husband, Tony, Scott Tibbitts, Robin Tonge and her husband, Mark, Robert Lively and his wife, Linda, and Rachel Woodrow and her husband, Adam; many great-nieces and great-nephews, and great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews; and several cousins. Carolyn was predeceased by her parents; her siblings, Dean Tibbitts and his wife, Barbara; her sister-in-law, Linda Tibbitts; and her nieces, Liza Tibbitts and Terri Priest.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Sweet Seniors in East Millinocket for their exceptional care of Carolyn, and to Hibbard Nursing Home in Dover-Foxcroft for their love and compassion for Carolyn in her last days.

Friends may call on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, from 10 to 11 a.m. at East Millinocket Congregational Church, 11 Maple St., East Millinocket, with funeral services beginning at 11 a.m. with Pastor Forrest Gantiner officiating.
