To most, she was "Kay," and never met a yard sale or bargain she didn't like. Famous for her cackling laugh and love for her family and friends, Chester Baptist Church, gossip, banana splits, red hot dogs with fried onions, primitive Americana décor, brass doodads, Juicy Fruit gum, anything sung by Dolly Parton, and voting Republican. She spoke her mind and added colorful language if she felt it was called for. It was often called for.
She grew up "downeast," in Columbia Falls. She was the spirited youngest of Laura (Mawhinney) and Alden Worcester's ten children, George, Florence "Flossie," Theodore "Teddy," Ida Maude, Frederick "Fred," Lester, Robert "Bob," Alden, Audrey and Carolyn. Kay married William "Billy" Henry Drisko in 1948 and they enjoyed nearly 67 years of marriage, raising two daughters and a son. They added eldest granddaughter, Barbara Anne, as the baby of their family. Michelle Richards was considered an "adopted" daughter, too, as a devoted friend for many decades.
Kay was predeceased by her beloved Billy; daughter, Charlene; grandson, Michael; and all of her siblings. She is survived by daughter; Myra Whorton and husband, Charles, of Lee, ME; son, William "Bill" Drisko and wife, Kelley, of Augusta, ME; and five grandchildren, Barbara Hutchings (Brian) of Woodland Hills, UT, Amy Gray (Alf Wilson) of Marblehead, MA, Alton (Andrew) Gray (Kelly) of Oxford, MA, Matthew Whorton (Elizabeth) of Cumberland, ME, and Stephanie Cobbin (Dylan) of Winthrop, ME; and 13 great-grandchildren, Ashlyn, Addison, Aiden, Cooper, Joshua, Elijah, Cassandra, Sarah, Alexandra, Lily, Nora, Sebastian, and Loki.
