Carol K. Guerrette Obituary

Frankfort, Maine - Carol passed peacefully August 11, 2025, in Bangor surrounded by family and friends after a long battle with cancer. Carol was born March 5, 1952, in Madawaska, the daughter of George E. Guerrette Sr. and Mary Lily (Lajoie) Guerrette and was raised in Brewer.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a brother, George Guerrette Jr.; and sister, Tina Guerrette. She is survived by her life partner, Ann M. Duperry of Frankfort; her beloved niece, Carol (Guerrette) Jones and husband, Greg, her very special great-nephew, Brian Jones, all of Brewer; Brian's girlfriend, Danielle George of Etna; and a brother, Donald Guerrette Sr. and his family of the Newport, ME, area. As a lifelong animal lover and advocate, she leaves her two babies, Georgie and Queenie.

Throughout her life she was an avid candlepin bowler and loved reading, movies, bingo, golf, and travel. Carol graduated with the class of 1970 from Brewer High School, and earned her degree in Bus. Mgmt. from Eastern Maine Tech College. She worked in retail until 1973 when she began her career with the State of Maine at agencies to include Bangor Mental Health, Elizabeth Levinson Ctr., Charleston Corr. Fac., Mountainview Youth Dev. Ctr., and retiring from Dorothea Dix Psych. Ctr. in 2011.

Carol will be missed by numerous loving friends, especially Karen St. Peter, Tonia Haines and Carol Trottier of Bangor, and Julia Spinney and Patricia Gillis of Corinth. Carol wants to give special thanks to Mariah Carrier of St. Joseph Homecare and Hospice for her true compassion and care during her illness.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Bangor Humane Society, 693 Mt Hope Ave., Bangor, ME 04401. The family will hold a gathering to celebrate her life at a future date. Private burial will be at Mt. Pleasant Catholic Cemetery in Bangor. Messages and memories may be shared with her family on the tribute wall of kileyandfoley.com.
