Bangor, Maine - Carlene G. (Davis) Toole, 84, passed away on December 23, 2025. She was born on March 1, 1941, in Castine, the granddaughter of John and Cora Davis.

Carlene moved from Deer Isle to Bangor at the age of 13. She attended Garland Street Junior High and Bangor High School. After high school Carlene and her husband Terry, moved to Germany for several years where Terry was stationed in the Army. Upon their return to the States, Carlene was a homemaker and together they purchased Frost Market in Bangor. Carlene ran the market, while also raising their four children. After many years of ownership they sold the store and Carlene went to work for Shop N Save, which later became Hannaford. Carlene worked there for 27 years until her retirement in 2010. Carlene enjoyed going to her grandchildren's dance recitals, plays, and numerous sporting events. She was known for her candy drawer and lavishing her grandchildren with all of the junk food they weren't allowed at home. For many years Carlene enjoyed bowling, ceramics, gardening, canning, and making jam. She was also Johnny Cash's biggest fan.

She was predeceased by her husband, Terry Sr.; her son, Terry Jr.; and her sister, Carole. She is survived by her son, Micheal; her son, Christopher and his wife, Marlene; her daughter, Barbara and her husband, Todd, her grandsons, TJ, Jonny and Meaghan, Alex and Emily, Nick and Zoe, Satchel and Monica, and Lucas; her granddaughters, Riley and Mike, and McKenzie and Cem; two great-granddaughters, Murphie and Poppy; several nieces, nephews, cousins; and a very special friend, Judi Hogan. The family wishes to thank the staff of Montello Manor for the loving and compassionate care given to Carlene these past 16 months.

A celebration of Carlene's life will be held 10-11:30 a.m. Tuesday, January 20, 2026, at Kiley & Foley Funeral Service, 299 Union St., Bangor, with burial and committal immediately following at Mt. Pleasant Catholic Cemetery, Bangor.
