Milford, Maine - Brittany Lynn Thornton, our blonde-haired, blue-eyed beauty, passed away peacefully June 21, 2025, surrounded by her family. She was born in Bangor, September 26, 1983, to David and Kimberly (Carlton) Thornton.
Brittany spent much of her childhood in Milford with her cousins and Memere and Papa. When she moved south with her parents, she loved to return to Milford every summer. She graduated from Cleveland High School in Georgia. After high school, she worked alongside her father in the family business. Brittany could learn anything and worked around the clock to make sure all went smoothly. Brittany loved her family and always made it known. She was smart, stubborn, and always up for a good laugh. She loved animals of all kinds and enjoyed many throughout her life.
She was predeceased by her grandparents, Jeff Sullivan, Tom and Gloria Thornton, and Uncle Tommy Thornton. She is survived by her parents; her sister Raekel Nichols; nephews Tyler, Freddie, Trenton and niece, Amaya, of Bradley; her maternal grandmother, Maryanne Sullivan; Aunt Dru Owens; Uncles, Gordon Clark and Cole Sullivan of Georgia; her Aunt Brenda Thornton, Uncle Peter and Aunt Chris Thornton, Aunt Pam Thornton, and Uncle Michael and Aunt Ann Thornton of Maine. She is also survived by many great-aunts and great-uncles, cousins, and the extended families who loved her so much.
Brittany's family would like to thank all the nurses, doctors, and staff on the ICU floor at St. Joseph Hospital for their exceptional love and care.
There will be a celebration of life on July 10, 2025, 4-8 p.m. at 21 Kalico Way in Milford.
In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to Maine Youth Fish and Game Association, P.O. Box 337, Stillwater, ME 04489.
