Stacyville, Maine - Brian Keith Mcquarrie, 70, passed away unexpectedly on October 20, 2025. Born on May 30, 1955, he was the fourth child of Curtis and Etta (Hanson) McQuarrie.

Brian graduated from Katahdin High School and Unity College. Before entering the military, Brian spent 10 years working locally for Sherman Lumber Company and Great Northern Paper. He then proudly joined the United States Army, embarking on a distinguished 28-year career serving his country. During his service, he completed two tours of duty in Korea, where he began his career as a helicopter mechanic, and served one tour in Operation Desert Storm.

Upon returning home to Maine in 2014, Brian became deeply invested in civic life. He served his community actively as a selectman and member of the school board, and he was well known throughout the area for his generous spirit and dedication to local seniors.

Brian was predeceased by his parents, Curtis and Etta McQuarrie; and his sisters, Margaret and Joan. He is survived by his sister, Jane; brother, Paul; along with many extended family members and friends.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, at 11:30 a.m. at New Stacyville Cemetery. Following the service, all are invited to the Sherman Rec for a lunch in commemoration of Brian.
