Millinocket, Maine - Brenda J. Hews, 89, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on July 3, 2026. Brenda was born on February 22, 1937, in Dover Foxcroft, the daughter of William and Eleanor (Clukey) Bryant.

Brenda graduated from Foxcroft Academy, class of 1955. On November 10, 1956, she married John Hews and they were married 66 years until his passing in December of 2023.

She worked at Key Bank's Millinocket branch and retired in 1995. She was a devoted member of St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church in Millinocket. For many years, she served on several committees, and she truly enjoyed spending her time volunteering. She was a past president of Emblem Club, trustee at Millinocket Library, and served on the Supervisory committee at Katahdin Credit Union. Brenda and John enjoyed their camp life, snowmobiling and traveling by car seeing 48 of the 50 states in the US.

She is survived by her three children, Lorene Cyr, Linda and her husband, Bob Albert, and Ronald Hews and partner, Sue; grandchildren, Brad Cyr, Steven Cyr, Drew Albert, Kristen Soucy; great-grandchildren, Joey, Gavin and Camille Cyr, Camden and Kendall Soucy, and Eloise and Bowen Albert and a brother, Barry Bryant and his wife, Patricia. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, John Hews.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Monday, July 13, 2026, at 11 a.m. at St. Martins of Tours Catholic Church, 19 Colby St., Millinocket, ME.
