Bob Topliff Obituary

Bangor, Maine - Bob Topliff, 94, of Veazie, passed away peacefully on February 27, 2025. Born in Akron, Ohio, Bob grew up impressing his friends and family with his athletic talents.

Excelling in football, basketball and baseball, Bob attended and graduated from Akron University. After marrying his wife, Carol, and having their four children, Bob and his family frequently embarked on adventures in their VW van. After several road trips to New England, Maine won their hearts, leading his family to settle in Northeast Harbor. Bob would recount tales of his colorful career journey from probation officer to Northeast Harbor police officer. However, his passion for reading and writing propelled him to become an English teacher, where he dedicated over two decades of his life to teaching at Hermon Middle School. Bob, a funny guy with the knack for capturing the room, was known for his loyalty, energy, and unwavering support for women.

Bob is survived by his four children, David Topliff, Laura Horvath, Jeffrey Topliff and Ellen El-Hajj, and ten grandchildren and seven great-grandsons.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Bob's memory may be sent to Bangor Humane Society.
