Bangor, Maine - Betty A. Whitten, 91, died January 5, 2026, at home. She was born July 22, 1934, in Old Town, the daughter of William C. and Valeria M. (Goodwin) Weatherbee.

Betty graduated from Bangor High School, class of 1952 and then attended Beal College School of Business. She married William A. Whitten and raised their family in Bangor.

Betty is survived by her daughters, Julie Wright and husband, Tony, of Rockville, MD, Terrie Whitten and husband, Vince Grifasi, of Charleston, ME, and Valerie Lutterloh and husband, Scott, of Sneads Ferry, NC; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one brother, Robert Weatherbee of Bangor; and one sister, Sally O'Neill of Columbia, SC. In addition to her parents and husband, Betty was predeceased by her brothers, George Weatherbee and Hollis Moores.

A small family interment will be scheduled later in the year.
