Millinocket, Maine - Benoit "Ben" Nadeau, 83, passed away on June 12, 2026, in Millinocket. He was born January 4, 1943, in Sainte-Rose-du-Degelis, Quebec, Canada, the son of Joseph and Simonne (Fortin) Nadeau.

Ben moved to the United States when he was a teenager and began working for a local woods contractor. He then took a position with Great Northern Woodlands as a crane operator until they closed. Afterwards, Ben worked for the Maine D.O.T. as a grader operator until his retirement. When Ben wasn't working, he enjoyed spending time at the family camp on Smith Pond and spending time with his family and friends. The highlight of his life was spending quality time with his grandchildren.

Ben is survived by his wife of 57 years, Linda (Leavitt) Nadeau of Millinocket; his son, Michael and wife, Jessica, of Levant; a son-in-law, Scott Duplisea of Millinocket; his three grandchildren, Corbin Nadeau and wife, Crystal, Emily Nadeau, and Bradley Duplisea; and one great-grandchild, Colt Nadeau. He is also survived by his siblings, Frances Nadeau and husband, Albert, Henedine Dine Pare, Claude Nadeau, Michael Nadeau and his wife, Rolande, and Gil Nadeau and wife, Denise; his brother-in-law, Rick Leavitt and wife, Linda, of Millinocket; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and the many friends he made throughout the years. Ben was predeceased by his parents; his daughter, Janel Duplisea; his siblings, Denise Landry and Jack Nadeau; and one brother-in-law, Terry Leavitt.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to his "buddy," Arnold Madore and to Sheila DiCentes for being such good friends and neighbors throughout the years. Also to the Bragdon family and Andy Nadeau for all they have done for us.
