Abbot, Maine - Barbara Mildred (Morse) Pride, 94, passed away July 31, 2025. She was born March 19, 1931, in Abbot, Maine, the daughter of Joseph P. Morse and Bernadine (Dykeman) Morse.

She grew up in many different towns in Maine, including Mars Hill, Forest City, and Bath, before eventually returning to Abbot. After marrying Waldon Pride, they raised their three children in Monson and Abbot.

Barbara loved to cook and was dubbed the "Pie Queen" of Abbot. She also loved playing cards, and watching Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy. She loved her many pets through the years, including cats, dogs, birds, and a rabbit. She was an active member of the Abbot Historical Society and the Sunshine Club.

Barbara was predeceased by her parents; her husband of 37 years, Waldon Q. Pride; her brothers, Elwin and Norman; and her baby sister, Joyce. Also, by many special friends and in-laws. She is survived by her brother, Raymond Morse and his wife, Barbara, of North Port, Florida; her son, Joseph Pride; her daughters, Jayne Pride and Julie Hanscom; and her husband, Brian; granddaughter, Sabrina Magee and her husband, Ben; many nieces and nephews, including a very special niece, Layla McKee.

Barbara requested no funeral service. There will be a small graveside service at Blanchard Cemetery in Abbot to be announced later.
