Barbara Jean Gray
Holden - Barbara Jean (Clarke) Gray of Holden, Maine, died on June 28, 2019, at the home she shared with husband, Alton Gray, and beloved cats, Pepper and Babe. Born on January 9, 1945, in Portland, she was the daughter of Boyde and Sheila (Winchester) Clarke.

Barbara attended Swan's Island schools, Pemetic High School, and Eastern Maine Technical College. As a licensed practical nurse, she specialized in substance abuse and geriatric care. Barbara loved to travel. She and Alton visited and lived in "too many places to count".

Barbara joined her parents; brothers, Boyde Jr., Allen, and Joseph; and great-grandchildren, Aiden Tozier and Kailyn Baldwin, in heaven. Family left behind includes her husband of 42 years; daughters and spouses, Lorraine (Tozier) and Marc Robida of Portsmouth, NH, Annette (Tozier) and Wallace Bubier of Harmony, Robin (Tozier) and Randall Black of 'wherever the wind blows', and Loralyn (Tozier) and John Walsh of Valley Center, KS; son, Anthony Tozier of Jefferson; sisters, Carolyn Martin of Southwest Harbor, Yvonne Morrison of Jefferson, ME; 13 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

In keeping with her wishes, a private burial was held at the Riverside Cemetery in Hancock, Maine. Memorial donations may be made to the Northern Light Home Care & Hospice - Penobscot, Bangor, ME.
