Barbara Gilbert Bloodsworth


Brewer - Barabra Lorraine Gilbert Bloodsworth, 82, of Milo, Maine, went to be with her Lord on August 31, 2019 in Brewer.
Barbara was born in Milo to Daniel and Florence Gilbert on May 15, 1937. She graduated from Milo High School in 1955 and went on to earn a certificate in secretarial work from Husson College. She then embarked on a 42 year career as a Legal Secretary for Eaton, Peabody, Bradford and Vague Law Firm in Bangor, Maine. She enjoyed writing short stories, drawing, music and nature. She also enjoyed hearing her son play guitar and her grandson play the piano.
Barbara is survived by her brother, Robert D. Gilbert of Arizona, her son, Steven Bloodsworth and his wife Jessica and son Sam of Bangor, her step-son Ken Bloodsworth and his wife Lorraine and son Shawn of Bradley. She is also survived by nephews and nieces that were near and dear to her heart. She was predeceased by her husband Robert Bloodsworth, her sisters Gertrude Johnston and Teresa Thompson and her brother Roscoe Gilbert.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Penobscot Christain School's Building Fund, 1423 Ohio St. Bangor, ME 04401 The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Woodlands Senior Living in Brewer for their wonderful care as well as her friends that had so closely watched over her for the last couple of years.

Barbie always so sweet and kind. I wish I had not lived so very far away from my Maine family. I am sure she is having a great time reuniting with those gone before.
