Angelena Myrtle (Alley) Smith Obituary

Jonesport, Maine - Angelena Myrtle (Alley) Smith, 90, passed on Dec. 23, 2022, in Bangor, Maine. She was born January 24, 1932, on Beals, to the late Donald N. and Lizzie D. (Peabody) Alley. Angelena was the first of five children and the only girl. The mischievous twinkle in her eye was evident, as she loved playing jokes on her family members.

Angelena attended Beals schools as well as Prospect Harbor schools during her frequent visits with her Aunt Belva and Uncle Elmer. She graduated from Beals High School.

Angelena was always immersed in crafts. Three of her favorite activities were crocheting, knitting, and sewing. She has sent many articles of baby clothing to hospitals for use in the NICU. Her most recent project was an afghan this winter.

She loved cake decorating and baked many birthday cakes for her young grandchildren over the years, making character and themed cakes. She also took great pride in designing wedding cakes for many couples.

Angelena married Leon "Bud" Smith soon after high school. They were married for 71 years. Together they loved taking weekend trips to go antiquing, as Bud loved to please his "Angie Babe" and see her beautiful smile.

Angelena was a member of the Advent Christian church.
