Oakfield - Alma Mae (Howe) Clark, 89, passed away October 15, 2019. She was born on December 14, 1929 in Island Falls, the daughter of Horace and Lulu (McFarland) Howe.
She married Norman D. Clark on March 12, 1949 in Oakfield, Maine. Together they raised two children, Douglas and (Elizabeth) Clark of Island Falls, and Deborah and (Alston) Crandall of Mapleton. She was very active in the Oakfield Baptist Church as a Sunday School teacher, singing in the church choir and organizing and hosting many church suppers. Her church was very special to her. She enjoyed traveling, especially on several trips to Kentucky with special friend, Doris Sherman. Also traveling to Florida and Prince Edward Island with her family. She and several friends formed the "Purple Hat Society" and the "Hillbilly Jug Band",enjoying each other's company and eating out at many different restaurants.
She is survived by her children; two brothers: Alvie and (Jean) Howe and Donnie Hal; grandchildren: Jefferson and Melissa Clark, Eliza Beth and Adam Anderson, Tara Sue and Ryan Ring, Kirby Hardy, Marcy and Dustin King, Nathan and Janelle Hardy; great grandchildren: Briana and Hunter Clark, Zachary, Nicholas, Lillian, Savannah, Isaiah, Isabella, Malachi and Joshua Anderson, Matthew and Ava Smith, Padme' Hardy, Emma and Jacob King and Lincoln and Liam Hardy.
She was predeceased by her parents Horace and Lulu; her husband, Norman; a sister, Lona Friel, and a great grandson, Nathan Smith.
Services will be held on Thursday, Oct. 17 at the Oakfield Baptist Church with visiting hours 1 to 2 pm and funeral service at 2 pm with Pastors Andy Harthorne, James Akerson and Scott Seiler officiating. There will be a time of remembrance and a luncheon to follow.
