Pembroke, Maine - Alice Yvonne Carter, 78, died on July 31, 2018, at a Waterville nursing home after a brief illness. She was born in Pembroke, Maine, on September 26, 1939, to Earl and Clara (Stevens) Sturk. She attended Pembroke schools and was married to Paul Anthony Carter in November 1959.

Yvonne was a lifelong resident of Pembroke. She was a member of the Ironworks Methodist Church and taught Sunday school there and helped lead Girl Scouts in the 1970's. She loved antiques and collecting and was happiest when out hunting for treasures, starting with bottles in the 1970's and ending with buttons at the time of her passing. She enjoyed making crafts from vintage materials in her later years.

She is survived by her children, Randy Carter of Ellsworth, Sharon Field and her husband, Marc, of Norridgewock; brother, Dale Sturk and his wife, Jane, of Oakland; sisters-in-law, Mary Sturk of Calais and Vernis Kelly of Danielson, CT; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, her parents, and siblings, Verna Newcomb, Elaine Greene, Mary Stevens, Lewis Sturk, Paul Sturk, William Sturk, Burton Morgan, and Malcolm Morgan.
