Alice K. Adams
Alice graduated 8th grade from St. Mary's Catholic School and from Houlton High School Class of 1946. She was employed at Bangor and Aroostook Railroad for 5 years. In 1951, she married Murray C. Adams,Sr. In 1956, they moved to the family farm in Linneus, where together they raised ten children. They were married for sixty-six years. She always enjoyed riding the back fields looking for wildlife, loved going to camp, fishing, gardening and spending time with family. She was a member of the school board and town committees. She was a life long member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and a member of the Houlton Catholic Council of Women.
In addition to her parents and step-father Wilmont Devou, she was predeceased by her husband Murray, her sisters, Lucy Kinney Folsom and husband Paul, Mary Kinney Howland and husband Albert. She is survived by her brother Joseph Devou and wife Eloine, ten children; Dennis Adams and his wife Jayne, Gregory Adams and his wife Nancy, William "Billy" Adams and his wife Beth, Joseph "Joey" Adams and his wife Diana, Anne Adams, Murray "Clive" Adams Jr. and his wife Elsa, Barbara Landry and her husband Lee, Christine Alvarado and her husband Domingo, Pamela Rice, Kevin Adams and his wife Tammy. She also leaves behind twenty three grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and cousins, all who were very special to her.
The family would like to thank Dr. Abouleish for his many years of care for their mother. They would also like to express their appreciation for the nurses and staff of Madigan Estates.
Relatives and friends may visit between 10:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m., Saturday, April 27,2019, at the Dunn Funeral Home, 11 Park St., Houlton. A Mass Of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, Apr. 27, 2019, at St. Mary Of The Visitation Church with Father Kent Ouellette celebrant. The family invites relatives and friends to share conversation and refreshments at St. Anthony Hall following the service.Interment will take place at a later date at Linneus Cemetery. Those who wish to remember Alice in a special way may make gifts payable in her memory to a charity of their choice c/o Dunn Funeral Home, 11 Park St., Houlton, ME 04730.
