- Wilma May (Bither) Welton, 89, passed away unexpectedly Friday, Dec. 23, 2016, at Madigan Estates. She was born March 20, 1927, in Linneus, the daughter of Frank and Flora (Adams) Bither.
Wilma lived most of her adult life in Hodgdon, working many years as town clerk. She was a long time member of the Hodgdon Methodist Church.
Wilma is survived by her children Nancy Welton of Houlton, Rick Welton and his wife Cheryl (Peabody) of Linneus, Debbie (Welton) Upton and her husband Kevin of Houlton, Jay Welton and his wife Claudette (Estabrook) of Hodgdon; six grandchildren Derick Welton and his girlfriend Laura Holmes of Ludlow, Gerry Welton and his wife Amy of Sandown, NH, Dustin Esterbrook of Hodgdon, Danica Welton of Hodgdon, Danielle (Welton) Bickford and her husband Josh of Houlton, Zane Welton of Hodgdon; great grandson Geramy Welton of Sandown, NH; her brother Wayne Bither and his wife Gail of Hodgdon; her daughter-in-law Sharon (Johnson) Welton of Houlton; sister-in-law Marie Bither of Hastings, NE; numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Gerald Welton, her parents, her son David Welton, her sisters Ethelyn Nealey and Dorothy Nesbitt, her brothers Leo Bither, Forest Bither and Floyd Bither.
Friends may call 12 noon, Monday, Dec. 26, 2016, at the Dunn Funeral Home until the time of the service 1:00 p.m. with Paula Lilley officiating. A private spring interment will be in the Hodgdon Cemetery.
