William's Story

Bucksport and Ft Pierce, Fl - William R. Potter, 84, died Friday October 7, 2016, at Eastern Maine Medical Center with his loving family by his side. He was born February 4, 1932, the son of John C. and Pauline (Leach) Potter. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He worked for 42 years and retired from the Bucksport paper mill. Bill had a passion for flying as a private pilot. He also enjoyed flying radio controlled planes as a hobby.
He is survived by his soul mate Catherine Wyles of Bucksport, four daughters and husbands; Sylvia & Ken Michaud of St. David, Amy & Peter Albert of Glenburn, Maggie & Matt Boatright of Sneads Ferry, NC and Jada & Adam Gray of Bluffton, SC., extended family; Danny & Monique Wyles and Lisa Abrams, Twelve Grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, one brother; Ronald Potter of Orland and many nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life for family and friends will be held Saturday, October 15, 2016, 2-4 p.m. at the Bucksport Senior Center.
Memorial contributions in Bill's memory may be made to Cancer care of Maine 33 Whiting Hill Road Brewer, ME 04412 to aid in brain cancer research.
