Willard's Story

BANGOR - Willard A. Stubbs passed away March 13, 2015, at Eastside Health Care, Bangor, Maine, after a lengthy illness.

Billy was born February 2, 1934, the son of Bernard C. and Edith M. (Pipes) Stubbs. He attended Sherman High School, Sherman Mills, Maine, where he excelled in baseball and basketball and also served in the United States Air Force. Billy enjoyed the outdoors and enjoyed cross-country skiing and climbing Mt. Katahdin, sometimes more than once in the summer. Billy had a deep love for the Lord and enjoyed reading his Bible and watching Steven Segal movies.

He was predeceased by his parents; sister, Ida Metcalf; brother, Rodney Stubbs; first wife, Bonita; second wife, Lorraine; and half-brothers, Bernard Jr., Merle, and Freddie Stubbs. He is survived by his daughter, Debra Hudson and her husband, Dan of West Moreland, New Hampshire; grandsons, John Unterrinter and Troy Unterrinter of Sherman, Maine; his stepson, Charles Munson of Swanzey, New Hampshire; sisters, Margaret Boucher of Brewer, Maine, Barbara (Bertha) Wildes and her husband, Gilbert of Bowdoinham, Maine, Judith DeLaite and her husband, Richard of Lincoln, Maine; and his brother, Carroll Stubbs and his wife, Sandra of Silver Springs, Florida. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Special thanks to the nursing staff at Eastside Health Care for their professionalism, tender care and sincere kindness that was extended to Willard.
