- Wendell Eugene Prosser, 87, went to be with the Lord April 14, 1017. He was born April 7, 1930 in Monticello a son of Frank and Mildred (Kneeland) Prosser.
He served in the U. S. Army from 1948 to 1950 and married the former Meriem Murphy on Dec. 18, 1954. He was a self-employed auto and truck mechanic in Mass. For 30 years. After they returned to Maine he was a licensed Master electrician and was employed at Irving Tanning, RSJ Electric, and worked many years as a self-employed electrician.
He was a member of the Solid Rock Church of God in Pittsfield, a long-time member of the Full Gospel Business Men's Fellowship, a lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans, and he enjoyed serving as a chaplain and ministering in local hospitals and nursing homes. Wendell loved the Lord and his church family with all his heart.
In addition to his wife of Pittsfield, he is survived by two children, Sharon Hogan and Bonnie Drost; two adopted children, Douglas Murphy and Patricia Sevener; his sister, Carolyn Graham; 11 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, Apr. 18, 2017, at Crosby & Neal, 117 Main Street, Newport, where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Apr. 19, 2017, with the Rev. Tom Duperry officiating. Committal services will be held at Village Cemetery, Pittsfield, later in the spring. Memorial donations may be made to the Solid Rock Church of God, P.O.
