Ward's Story

BANGOR AND BUCKSPORT - Ward A. Grant, 93, of Bangor, formally of Bucksport, died April 20, 2016. He was born August 10, 1922 in Woodland, Maine, the son of Walter A. and Geneva F. (Milton) Grant.

Ward graduated from Caribou High School in 1939, owned the Kwik Stop in Bucksport, and was a member of the St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church.

He is survived by one son, Ward "Nick" A. Grant II of Bucksport; 2 granddaughters, Lori Gesmondi of CT and Kristen Tatangelo of Cherryfield, ME; one grandson, Jamie Grant of NY; two great grandsons, Orion and Grant Tatangelo of Cherryfield; 3 daughters-in-law, Betty Ann Grant of Scarborough, Delores Grant of CT, and Elizabeth Vose of Hampden.

He was predeceased by his wife, Rita (Chamberlain) Grant on July 28, 1990; his parents; 2 sons, Rodney and Gregory Grant; one granddaughter, Robin Grant; and 4 brothers, Philip, Lewis, Dale and John Grant.
