LINCOLN - Virginia M. "Gigy" Cole, 87, wife of the late Harlan E. Cole, passed away Sept 10, 2016 at her home. She was born Jan. 24, 1929, in Lincoln, the daughter of James and Stella (Sturgeon) Whalen. Gigy loved her church - St. Mary of Lourdes. She was a member of the Beano Ladies Club, and she volunteered at the nursing home. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She is survived by a son Richard A. Cole and his wife Fiona, a daughter Penny Allen and her husband Lester, five granddaughters Katie, Andrea, Kylee, Elizabeth and Rebecca, six great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and her parents she was predeceased by four siblings Winnie, Kathryn, Pat, and Fran.
Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday September 17, 2016, at Clay Funeral Home, 7 Lee Road Lincoln, where funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. with the Rev Richard Malo officiating.
