FORT KENT - Viola (Martin) Caron, 84, passed away Thursday, February 26, 2015, at a Fort Kent Health Care Facility. She was born June 10, 1930, in Stockholm, Me., daughter of the late Victor and Sadie (Chamberlain) Martin.
Viola was a devoted mother and grandmother. She is survived by two sons, Gary and his companion, Leone Saucier, and Stanley and his companion, Gilmay Mahaney; one daughter, Carol (Donald) Soucy, all of Fort Kent; five grandchildren, Sonia Maxwell and her husband, Andrew, and Jammie Caron and his wife, Samantha, of Lee, Maine, Robin Brown and her husband, Jeff, and Ricky Soucy, all of Maryland, and Travis Mahaney of Fort Kent; and three great-grandchildren, Mallory and Mason Maxwell, and Sierra Caron. She is also survived by her brother, Clinton Martin and wife, Leona, of Conn.; and two sisters, Arlene Martin of Conn. and Reona Porter of Patten, Me. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews that she loved dearly. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Emile Caron, in 1985; and one son, Clinton, in 1963; six brothers, Roland, Sammy, Milton, Allen, Ronald and Victor Martin Jr.; one sister, Cecile Peterson; and one special companion, Ernest Voisine.
Friends may call 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, March 5, and 9 to 10:30 a.m. Friday until the time of service at the Daigle Funeral Home, Fort Kent. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Friday at the St. Louis Catholic Church, Fort Kent. Spring burial will be held in the parish cemetery.
