- Victor Roosevelt Lindquist, Jr., 87, husband of Lila (Giles) Lindquist, went home to be with the Lord, Friday, June 30, 2017. He was born August 8, 1929, to Victor R. and Irene (Oakes) Lindquist.
He grew up in West Enfield and spent two years in Germany with the U S Army. He was employed for 40 years as a millwright with Lincoln Pulp & Paper. He enjoyed hunting and fishing in his younger days as well as camping with the family. He enjoyed working in his workshop where many creations were made. He made many things for his wife and children, including the latest woodcrafts they had found. He was able to make it by just giving him a rough sketch or dimensions. He was working in his shop right up until a few months ago. He was an amazing carpenter, storyteller of old times, husband and father.
He will be dearly missed by his family. In 1954 he wed Lila Giles. They had four children: Wanda Tash and Gene, Lynn Lloyd and Randy, Lisa Degenhardt and Fred and Victor III and Heidi; grandchildren, Jennifer and Gene, Jr., Malarie and William, Scott and Victoria, and Zachary; as well as seven great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his siblings, Philip, Frances Stevens, Ronald and an infant brother, Andrew, as well as his parents.
Graveside services will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, July 6, at Howland Cemetery, with the Rev. Jack Hyland officiating. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to River of Life Bible Camp, P.O. Box 726, Howland, ME 04448. Condolences may be expressed at www.clayfuneralhome.com.
