ELLSWORTH - Victor L. Danico, 86, passed away January 22, 2016 at his home after a long illness. He was born in Ellsworth, February 28, 1929, a son of Leaman and Lois (Urquhart) Danico.
He attended Ellsworth schools. Victor worked for M.D.O.T. for 37 years as an equipment operator and carpenter. After retirement, he worked for Atlantic Builders for a time. He was an avid fisherman and hunter. He and his wife enjoyed their camper. Victor and his wife, Beatrice (Gordon) were married for 50 + years.
He is survived by his son, James, Sr. and wife Evelyn of VA; grandchildren, Katrina Furia and husband Daniel of MA, James Jr. of FL, Ron DeFeo and wife Diane of Belmont; four great-grandchildren; brother, Richard and wife Janet of Ellsworth; sister, Varna Roberson of SC; brother-in-law, Mike and wife Marsha of Bar Harbor; special nephew and caretaker, Gordon Tracey of Ellsworth; and several nieces and nephews. He leaves behind a good friend and Domino player, Wayne McCormick of Ellsworth. He was predeceased by his wife, Bernice; daughter, Victoria DeFeo; brothers, Floyd, Leaman, Jr., Bobby, and Donald; sisters, Lillian, Mary, and Ruth.
A graveside service will be held in the spring.
