Thelma's Story

STACYVILLE - Thelma E. Drew, 96, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on March 14, 2015. She was born August 3, 1918, in Sherman Station, the daughter of John And Lillian (Giles) Horseman.

"Thelly" enjoyed fishing, hunting, picking berries and apples, bowling, playing cards and horseshoes, the Red Sox, and also going on picnics. She was a great cook and enjoyed cooking for her family. "Gram" enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She had a big heart and made everyone feel special and loved.

Thelma is survived by her son, Carl Drew and his wife, Monda; her daughter, Coradene Birmingham and her husband, Carroll, all of Stacyville; 7 grandchildren, Carlene Gould and husband, John, Debbie Perkins and her husband, Mark, Keith Drew and his wife, Cindy, Tim Drew and his wife, Shelly, Scott Birmingham, Tammy Craig and her husband, Shawn, and Andrea Patterson and her husband, Jerald; 14 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Fernald, in 1970; her special friend, Ed Seile; and her sisters, Helen London, Mildred Bright, her twin sister, Velma Ordway, and Ida McNally. The family would like to give special thanks to the nurses and staff at Houlton Regional Hospital, and those who cared for her at Madigan Estates.

A graveside services will be announced in the spring by Bowers Funeral Home, Island Falls.
