Terry's Story

MEDWAY - Terry J. "Tunk" Brackett, Sr., 68, passed away Wednesday, March 23, 2016. He was born September 21, 1947 in Island Falls, the son of Alfred J. and Myrtle F. (Cullens) Brackett.

Terry served in the U.S. Army, and worked in the "Clothing Crew" at the Great Northern Paper Company in East Millinocket. He was a talented guitarist, and spent many years as a young man playing all over the state with his band, T.J. and the Ramblers. Terry will be remembered as being quick witted, and a talented storyteller, with a special ability to tell a story in such a way as to make the listener believe the unbelievable.

Terry is survived by three children, Susan Perkins and her husband Phil, Melissa Brackett and Mark, and Terry J. Brackett, Jr. and Renee; six grandchildren, Athena, Breanna, Gwenyth, Madison, Paisley, and Ian; two siblings, Jamie Brackett and Joleen McAvoy; a special uncle, Sherley and his wife Carolee Brackett; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He will also be missed by special friends OC and Fran, Wendell Hudson, his "brother" Brent, his "boy" Reggie, George McLaughlin, and Jackie. In addition to his parents, Terry was predeceased by two brothers, Alan and Ricky, and special grandparents, with whom he spent many years, Beatrice and Ed Brackett.

Friends are invited to visit with the family 1-2 P.M. Tuesday, March 29 at the Tri-Town Baptist Church, 8 Cone Street, East Millinocket, where funeral services will be held immediately after, beginning at 2 P.M.
