WINTERPORT - Stella Weeda Doyon, 88, passed away on Friday, November 27, 2015 of a heart attack. Stella was peaceful and pain free surrounded by her family.
Stella was born on June 30, 1927 in St. Francois de Madawaska, New Brunswick, Canada; the daughter of Stanislas and Euphemie (Sylvain) Bouchard. Stella moved to Winterport in 1948 when she married her husband, Sylva Doyon, and lived in Winterport ever since.
In addition to raising six children with her beloved husband Sylva; Stella loved to sew, mend, knit, make patchwork quilts and baby blankets. She loved to spend time babysitting her grandchildren. After Sylva passed away Stella loved to work with her sons in the vegetable garden, plant flowers, run the wood splitter lever and go four-wheeling around the area. When the car door opened Stella was ready to go for a ride.
In addition to her parents Stella was predeceased by her husband of 50 years Sylva Doyon; infant daughter Ruth Doyon; sisters Aldea and Roland Berube; Rita McGrath; Norma Bouchard; brothers Homer and Alice Bouchard; Yvon and Wilma Bouchard; Edwin Bouchard; Merrill Bouchard; daughter-in-law Nancy Chandler.
Stella is survived by her daughter Rosemarie Hall of Whitsett, North Carolina; sons Roger and Barbie Doyon of Winterport; Richard Doyon of Winterport; Joel and Jeanne Doyon of Portland; Steven and Cindy Doyon of Winterport; Andrew Doyon of Winterport and fiancee Cheryl Coffin of Searsport; brother Oneil Bouchard of Lowell, Massachusetts; sister-in-law Rita and Donald Nelson of Winterport; Doris and Alvin Ingals of Frankfort; brother-in-law Frank Arsenault of Winterport; Marion Rudnicki of Bangor; Paul and Vickie McGrath of Framingham, Massachusetts; Raoul and Mary Doyon of Bangor; Arthur and Gayle Doyon of Winterport; grandchildren DonnaLynn Hall; Dottie and Donald Joyner; Stacy and Fred Brown; Joey Doyon; Morgan Doyon; Tyler Doyon; Courtney Doyon; Holden and Jordanne Doyon; Parker Doyon; great-grandchildren Trey Brown; Adrianna Joyner.
A Memorial celebrating the life of Stella will be held on Saturday, December 12 at 11 am at the Calvary Apostolic Church, 1 Main Road, Hampden. A reception will follow.
Stella was a very special lady and her family will miss her very much.
