- Stanley J. Hartley, 89, passed away June 13, 2017, at his residence in Blaine. He was born June 29, 1927 in Blaine.
He served in the US Army during World War II. Stanley worked many years for the State of Maine, Department of Transportation in road maintenance. He enjoyed fishing, snowmobiling, and camping along the coast. He was a member of the US Trotter Association. He raced horses at the Northern Maine Fair in Presque Isle, in Woodstock, NB, and in Scarborough. He was also a member of the American Legion in Mars Hill.
He is survived by two sons and their wives; Gary and Evelyn Hartley of Limestone, Larry and Linda Hartley of Sebring, FL, a daughter Linda Hartley of Blaine, seven grandchildren including a special grandson Jody Craig and his wife Cindy of Masardis, several great-grandchildren, a great-great-granddaughter Cameron. Several nieces and nephews, two sisters-in-law; Marie Hartley of Houlton, Connie Stoodley of Thompsonville, CT, a special friend Faye Cushing and her family of Pembroke. He was predeceased by his wife Pauline (Murphy) Hartley in 2008.
Friends may call at 2 p.m. Saturday June 17, 2017 at Duncan Funeral Home, 8 Main Street, Mars Hill, where funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. with Pastor Lawrence Beals officiating.
