Sheri's Story

LAKE WYLIE, SC - Sheri Lynn Howard, age 46, died at her home March 21, 2015. Sheri was born July 1, 1968, in Asmara, Eritrea to Francis "Jim" and Margo Connor.

Sheri grew up in Hudson, NH and Hooksett, NH, Graduated from Manchester Central High School and University of New Hampshire with a BS in Clinical Nutrition. She married under a towering trellis at the couple's Vassalboro, Maine farm on October 2, 1999, and welcomed the couple's daughter, Madalyn Nicole, on June 19, 2001.

While raising chickens, sheep, goats and caring for a herd of heifers, Sheri made a loving home for her family including many nieces and nephews. In 2007 she oversaw her family's move to Lake Wylie, South Carolina. She became an active volunteer at Griggs Road Elementary.

She was a certified tumor registrar for the National Cancer Registry.

As her illness progressed she took great joy in Madalyn's school, volleyball, and social activities, not always able to attend in person, but delighting in getting texts, calls and a full update after every activity.

Sheri is survived by a loving and extended family. In addition to Madalyn and husband Tom of Lake Wylie, are her mother Margo and brother John Connor of Highland Ranch, Colorado and sister-in-law Christie, father-in- law Thomas Howard, Sr., of Milo, Maine sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Leo and Stephanie Maciejewski of Cape Elizabeth, Maine, Vikki and Russell Carey, and Valerie and Ken Cowing of Milo, Maine. She leaves nieces, nephews and cousins, all of whom she adored and adored her.

Sheri was predeceased by her father, Jim Connor.

A Memorial Service will be held at 4:00 PM, Thursday, March 26, 2015, at River Hills Community Church in Lake Wylie with services offered by Pastor Gayle Montgomery. The family requests any remembrances of Sheri be made to Gaston Day School, 2001 Gaston Day School Road, Gastonia, NC 28056.

A Celebration of Sheri's life is planned for Kennebec County, Maine, at a later date.
