GREENVILLE AND DOVER-FOXCROFT - Sharon N. Powers, 73, wife of the late Gerald E. Powers Sr., went to be with her Lord on November 10, 2015. Sharon was born at home in St. Francis, ME, on March 28, 1942, the daughter of Chester R. and Evelyn (Emery) McBrierty. She was a member of the Charleston Pentecostal Church.
Sharon worked at C.A. Dean Memorial Hospital for many years, and also at St. Joseph Hospital and Eastern Maine Medical Center, both in Bangor, as an OR technician.
Sharon is survived by two children, her daughter, Donna A. Huff and her husband, Timothy JC Huff; and her son, Gerald E. Powers, Jr., and his wife, Rhonda; four grandchildren, Alison, Nathan, Kevin and Krystal; her brothers and sisters, Bruce McBrierty and his wife, Carol; Myra Caron and her husband, Victor; Cheri White and her husband, Leon; Alan McBrierty and his wife, Linda; Linda Inman and her husband, Raymond; and Cleo Phillips; a brother-in-law, Bae Powers; two sisters-in-law, Elinor Peat and Elizabeth Collins and her husband, Michael; and many nieces and nephews. She will be remembered by special loved ones, Vanessa Folsom and Mary Watson
She was predeceased by her husband; her parents; and brothers and sisters, Chester McBrierty, Jr. and his wife, Olive; Foster McBrierty; Nurisha Lail and her husband, Tom; Hurley McBrierty and his wife, Shirley; Barbara Clark and her husband, Herb; Joan Schultz; Gail Young and her husband, Melvin; and Lana McBrierty.
Sharon's children would like to thank Carol McBrierty, Myra Caron, and the Hospice caregivers for their loving help. Also special thanks go to Carol and Dennis Shaw for all their help during Mom's battle with pancreatic cancer.
A memorial service will be conducted 11 a.m. Saturday, November 21, 2015, at the Charleston Pentecostal Church, with the Rev. Matthew Ward officiating. Burial at a later date will be in the family lot in Greenville Cemetery. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society, 170 US Rt. 1, Ste. 250, Falmouth, ME 04105.
