Shari's Story

BUCKSPORT - Shari Lynn Thompson of Bucksport, 47, passed away peacefully and suddenly in her sleep on November 11, 2015.

Shari grew up in the Valley Community of Buffalo NY and attended Erie Community College. She chose to serve her country in the U.S. Air Force over joining the FBI, excelling in the responsibilities of executive assistant. Her talents lead to her being selected to serve at the Pentagon on the staff of Chief of Staff, U.S. Air Force and next as protocol assistant to Dr. Widnall, Secretary of the USAF. She was then assigned to RAF Mildenhall, UK, where she met the love of her life, Todd. She completed her service in 1999 to become a mother, relocating to Bucksport, Maine to raise her family. She continued her career working as a financial assistant at A.G. Edwards, Morgan Stanley and Royal Bank of Canada, all firms in Bangor, Maine. She earned the respect of all which she came into contact with and special connections to her team, Mark Erhardt and Fred Wlodarski. At each office she became family. Shari was a smart, protective, caring person and will always be remembered for her acts of kindness as evidenced by ensuring Christy reached her dreams of becoming a teacher. Shari had many special hidden talents, while always having a smile on her face and a twinkle in her eye. She received joy in taking care others and her home, enjoying favorite shows and watching Marissa grow.

Shari is survived by her loving husband Todd V. and gifted, precious daughter Marissa Lynn and supportive boyfriend, Elisha Davenport. Beloved daughter of Barbara M. (Kurzanski) and step-father Michael W. McKenna and her father, Henry Miller. Uncle Fred (Pat) Kurzanski and Philip (the late Joanna) Kurzanski. Aunt Geraldine and Uncle Roger Miller. Special Godfather James "Jimmy" Sabadasz, all of Buffalo, NY. Dear sister of Michael J. McKenna and family of San Antonio, Texas.

Daughter in-law of Nona Cirone and Billy Thompson of Addison, Maine. Sister in law of Robbi and Doug Smith Jr of Gouldsboro, Adam Thompson and wife Cheryl; Alexander Thompson and wife Jodi of Addison, Marie Hunter of Portland, Steven and wife Laurie of Ellsworth, and all their children, Step-mother of Todd Thompson Jr, and wife Dawn of Bothell, Washington State. Extended family of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews in Buffalo NY and Downeast Maine.

She was predeceased by her loving sister Christy L. McKenna, 34, October 25th 2011, her uncle Robert "Bobby" Sabadasz, step father in law Kenneth Cirone, Maternal Grandparents Agnes and Ferdinand "Fred" Kurzanski, and paternal Grandmother Mary Miller.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 am on Saturday, December 5, 2015, at St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church, Franklin Street, Bucksport, with USAF Honor Guard in attendance a reception will immediately follow the Mass in the Parish Hall. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Marissa Lynn Thompson Scholarship Fund, 45 Woodland Heights, Bucksport, Maine 04416.
