CARMEL - Scott A. Chamberlain, 53, died June 12, 2015 in Brewer after a brief illness. He was born Sept. 27, 1961 in Waterville, the son of Ernest E. and Marilyn (Fowler) Chamberlain.
Scott attended Brewer schools and worked for several years at Phoenix Industries. He enjoyed doing many things throughout his life. He enjoyed dancing, music, especially playing the harmonica and Elvis Presley, swimming, horses, Nascar racing, WWE wrestling and an occasional beer. Scott liked to cut wood with Ray, enjoyed driving and riding Donnie's party boat at camp and hanging out at Dick's Mini Mart and scratching tickets with Gerry Richardson. Scott was an athlete participating in Special Olympics and he was known to flirt with cute girls.
Surviving in addition to his mother of Carmel are his three sisters, Belinda Ordway, Wendy Chamberlain and her companion, Donald Neal, and Judy Hichborn and her husband, Ray; his nieces and nephews he affectionately referred to as his "dweebs," Angela Oliveros and her husband, Gabe, Tabitha Johnson and her wife, Barbara, Nathan Ordway and his wife, Angela, Jesse Chamberlain and his fiancée, Amber Preble, Leann Miller and her husband, Gene; great nieces and great nephew, Jayden, Michael, Brooklyn and Isabella. Scott was predeceased by his father in 1995.
A service honoring Scott's life will be held 1 PM today, Monday, June 15, 2015 at the Carmel Union Congregational Church, Carmel where family and friends may visit from 12 Noon until the service begins. Rev. Mark E. Rustin, pastor and Rev. Mark Bruce will preside and burial will be afterward at Highland Cemetery, Carmel. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Special Olympics Maine, 125 John Roberts Road, Suite 5, South Portland, ME 04106 ATTN: Linda or at specialolympicsmaine.org. The family invites friends and family to come back to Marilyn's house for refreshments after the burial. Arrangements by Kiley & Foley Funeral Service, 299 Union St., Bangor.
