BUCKSPORT - Sarah Marie Drake "Sally" passed away into the hands of her loving God and Savior on Sunday, February 22, 2015. She was born February 14, 1927 in Cambridge, MA daughter of Gregory and Mary (Aguiar) Silva.

Sally grew up and attended schools in Braintree and North Quincy, MA. She moved to Maine in 1965 when she accepted employment at the Seaboard Paper Company in Bucksport.

In 1965, she was hired as a teller/clerk for the Seaboard Federal Credit Union. She was promoted to Manager in 1976 when the existing manager passed away and served in this capacity until her retirement on March 1, 1987. Sally loved her work at the credit union because it gave her the opportunity to meet many people and develop many long term friendships. She especially enjoyed her fellow employees who became very special friends. Always ready to share a serious moment and/or a good laugh.

Sally enjoyed crocheting & knitting but painting was her favorite pastime until shoulder surgery made it too painful to continue. She and her husband, Ted, took many trips to Myrtle Beach where they walked the beach looking for shark teeth. Of course, her greatest love was her family and she always looked forward to birthdays & holidays that always brought them together. God blessed her with a close, loving family and a wonderful husband.

Sally was predeceased by her mother, father, step-father, two brothers, Edward Souza and Tony Silva and one sister, Tillie Smith.

She is survived by her loving husband of 46 years Kenneth (Ted) Drake; her daughter Lori Obey and husband Tom; her son Bill McAllian and wife Ida; daughter Joyce Fortier and husband Dick; 6 grandchildren, Sheila Collins and husband Tim, Sarah Keib and husband Steve; Kenneth Fortier and wife Aimee; Kathy Pittsley and husband Justin; Becky Dwyer and husband James; Kristin Guckian and husband Dan.

She also leaves beautiful great-grandchildren; Cody and Ashleigh Collins; Austin, Brianna and Evan Keib; Brayden & Logan Pittsley, Kaleb & Noah Fortier, Madelyn and Emelia Dwyer.

Family and friends will gather for visitation from 7-9pm on Thursday, February 26, 2015 at Mitchell-Tweedie Funeral Home 28 Elm Street Bucksport. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm, Friday, February 27, 2015 at Bucksport Church of God, 94 Race Course Rd, Bucksport with Pastor Tom Obey officiating.
