Sanford (Sandy)'s Story
- Sanford Steven Lindsey, 68, of Surry, left this earth on Saturday May 27th at 6:35 pm at his camp on Hadley Lake in Township 24. He was with some family and camping family. Sandy was the first born child to Steven and Dorothy(Turner) Lindsey. Sandy was predeceased by his parents and only sister Wanda and a half brother Rodney. Sandy left behind his brother Daniel and his partner Evelyn of Ellsworth. He also left behind these people to carry on for him, his wife Joan of Surry and a son Ray and his life partner Amanda of Surry, his only daughter Bonnie and her life partner Kristy of Ellsworth, step children Barry of Surry, Mike and his wife Heidi of Bucksport, Laurie of Oakland and his add-on daughter Edna and her husband Mike of Harrington and Herbie of Deblois. Sandy thoroughly enjoyed his grandchildren Corey Victor and Patrick, they were his camping buddies and adventurers and all of his step grandchildren. Sandy was also thrilled to have added his very own great-granddaughter Natialie and all the step great grandchildren which he loved to have come and visit. Sandy had many adventures in life and enjoyed all the things he did, mechanic and carpentry work, woodcutting and caregiving. Sandy was an avid wanderer in his vehicles and his fourwheelers and we mustn't forget about his well known habit of picking up all the cans and bottles he could find. He loved his time at camp and made many friends that way. there will be a celebration of Sandy's life on Sunday, June 11 2017 from 2-4 p.m. at the Surry grange hall, Rte 172, Surry, ME.
