Ruel's Story

MILLINOCKET - Ruel "Rudy" Leavitt, passed away, July 8, with his family by his side.

Rudy was born, September 4, 1936, in Phillips Maine, the son of Phyllis and Maurice Leavitt. He graduated from Phillips High School in 1954. He was a member of the starting five of the 1953 State Champion Basketball Team.

He married Ernestine (Petie) Wells in 1955. Together they had four children.

Rudy was an avid sports fan. He enjoyed family and friends most of all! He enjoyed watching the Red Sox, Celtics and Cowboys! He loved fishing, hunting, golfing, camp, playing cards, cribbage, coaching the Elks softball teams (which he was a team player for many years) and especially enjoyed watching his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren Rudy is survived my his children, Debbie Hebert and husband David, Kathy Cormier and husband Richard, Barry Leavitt and wife Lorrie, Paula Rouillard and husband Ron, 9 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren with Baby Rouillard due in October! His brothers, Raymond and Tont and sister Linda.

He was predeceased by his wife, his parents and his step father, Leo Bolduc.

The family would like to thank all the caring staff at Millinocket regional hospital for all their support!

A Celebration of Rudy's life will be at the Millinocket Elk's,(where he has been a member for 35 years) Saturday July 11 @ 1:00.
