Roscoe's Story

EFFINGHAM, NH - Roscoe V. Tibbetts, 82, of Effingham passed away suddenly Saturday, August 8, 2015 at his home with his family by his side.

He was born July 31, 1933 in Hermon, ME the son of the late Harold and Hazel (Goodspeed) Tibbetts, and had lived in Bourne, MA as owner of Star Construction for 37 years, before retiring to Effingham NH and Palmetto, FL.

Roscoe served his country in the US Army from 1953 to 1955 as a Corporal in the 350th Infantry Regiment. He was a Life Member of the DeWitt Clinton Lodge AF & AM in Sandwich, MA. He was also a 32nd Degree Shriner of the Alleppo Temple, Boston, MA.

He was predeceased by his wife Lois (Reed) Tibbetts, his son Kevin Tibbetts, his son-in-law Gerald Joyner, as well his siblings, Esther Bartlett, Glady McFarland, Wallace Tibbetts, Everett Tibbetts, Pearl Motley, Paul Tibbetts, Flora Lord, Arlene Lord and Earl Tibbetts.

Roscoe is survived by two daughters, Debra Loftus and her husband John, Leesburg, FL, and Constance Joyner, Mashpee, MA, six grandsons, two granddaughters and six great grandchildren. He also leaves behind his brother Ralph Tibbetts and sister-in-law Dorothy of California.

There will be no calling hours. Funeral Services will be held 12:00 pm on Wednesday, August 12, 2015 at Lord Funeral Home, 50 Moultonville Road, Center Ossipee, NH. Burial will be in the Grant Hill Cemetery.
