Rosamond's Story

HOULTON - Rosamond Doris-Marie Wright 77, passed away June 18, 2015 at her son's residence. She was born May 14, 1938 in Watson Settlement, NB, Canada, the daughter of Charles and Janet (Elvin) Upton.

Rose grew up in Watson Settlement and graduate from Woodstock High School. She met and married Gerald Wright at Richmond Corner in 1959, then moved to Houlton to raise their family. Rose worked at Aroostook General Hospital and Houlton Regional Hospital for many years. She worked for Houlton Farms Dairy for 38 years and was still working. She loved knitting, sewing, and reading. Rose enjoyed traveling to Bar Harbor, St. Stephen and St. Andrews. She also traveled to England a couple of times. Rose was a kind, loving person who will be greatly missed.

Rose is survived by her two sons David Wright of New Limerick, Stephen Wright and his wife Crystal of Houlton; granddaughter Violet Rose-Mary Wright; special family friend Alicia Marie Bell; her sister Gaynelle McLaughlin and her husband of Woodstock, NB, Canada; four sisters-in-law Maxine Gildred, Jean Emery, Mary Arch and Elizabeth Cone; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her parents and her husband Gerald in 2013.

Friends may call at the Dunn Funeral Home Sunday 5:00 to 7:00PM and Monday at Saint Mary of the Visitation Church 9:30AM until the time of the service 10:00AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Saint Mary of the Visitation Church Monday 10:00AM with Rev. David Raymond celebrant. Interment will be in the St. Mary's Cemetery.
