Ronald's Story

ORRINGTON - Ronnie York, 68, passed away peacefully at Togus Veterans Hospital on June 8, 2015, surrounded by his family. Ronnie graduated from Brewer High School in 1965, and while walking a porcupine on a leash down a road near Green lake, he met his soul mate, Susan Dawes, whom he married June 22 1968. Ronnie then joined the Navy and proudly served his country from 1968-1972. Upon returning home, he worked and became a Master Printer and was able to start his own printing company, Atlantic Graphics and Printing, which he ran for 28 years.

Ronnie is predeceased by his mother, Madeline (Chase) York and his grandson, Derek McLeod. Surviving are his beloved wife Susan (Dawes) York, their daughter Wendy (York) Willis and Carl Osborne, her sons Reese and Bryce, their son Christopher and his wife Debbie Arsenault-York, and their sons Joshua and Christopher, and other special relatives and friends. Ronnie was an avid fisherman, hunter, trapper and inventor. He was extremely outgoing and loved spending time at Green lake with family and friends. He fondly spoke of his mentor and father-figure, John Hendrickson who "showed him the ropes" of living in the woods. A memorial service and celebration of life will be held at East Orrington Congregational Church on Saturday June 13th, at 2:00pm with a reception immediately following and burial at Woodlawn Cemetery in Brewer.
