MILLINOCKET - Ronald P. Deane, 85, passed unexpectedly July 29, 2015, at the Maine Veteran's Home in Bangor. Ron was born Feb 7, 1930, in Guilford, the son of Glenn A. and Lena P. Deane.
Ron graduated from Guilford High School, Class of 1949 and Pueblo College in Colorado, Class of 1963. Following graduation, he served in the U.S. Army in Korea during the Korean Conflict. During his time of service, Ron traveled all over Europe and the world, visiting Italy, Germany, the Philippine Islands, Japan, and many other sites. After Ron retired from the Army, he married Lee Deane, returning to Maine and settling in Millinocket. Ron continued his career at Great Northern Paper Co. retiring with 20 years. After 26 years of marriage, Lee Deane passed. After her death, Ron married Anna (Paige) Deane - who passed 5 years later. Ron enjoyed traveling New Hampshire and Maine roads with his Audi and was also a loyal member and past commander of VFW Post 119 in Guilford.
Ron is survived by his beloved daughter Misuk D. Kim and her husband, Chungi; two grandsons, who he loved and adored, Jay and his wife Kelli, and Gene; a brother Austin Deane and his wife Diane; a half-brother Dale Dean and his wife Laurel; a sister in law, Charlene Deane; many half brothers and sisters, cousins, nieces, and nephews. Ron was predeceased by a brother, Albert Deane. He loved all his family, and they will miss him and think of him often.
A service of remembrance will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug 28, 2015, at Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 163 Mt Vernon Rd, Augusta, ME. Gifts in Ron's memory to the
