Roger's Story

Houlton and Presque Isle - Roger J. Michaud, 75, passed away Oct. 17, 2016, at a Van Buren healthcare facility surrounded by his family. He was born Feb. 28, 1941, in Eagle Lake, the son of Ludger and Jessie (Bouchard) Michaud.
Roger grew up in Eagle Lake and attended local schools. He moved to Presque Isle when he was a teenager. Roger married Connie McNeal in 1963, enjoying 53 years of marriage. He was an extremely hard worker, many times working three jobs so Connie could stay home and raise their family. Roger worked as an Aroostook County Deputy Sheriff. He drove bus for SAD#1 and together with Connie, they worked security for Delta Airlines at the Northern Maine Regional Airport in Presque Isle. Roger loved fishing, especially at Eagle Lake and camping at Birch Haven. Roger loved watching movies, making popcorn and Connie's cooking. He could be found many nights watching politics on the Fox News. He was a true family man always putting his family above himself.
Roger is survived by his wife of 53 years Connie (McNeal) Michaud of Houlton and Presque Isle; four children Mark Michaud and his wife Bella of Fort Fairfield, Dale Michaud and his wife Tracy of Presque Isle, Robin Crone and her husband Richard of Houlton, Brian Michaud and his wife Kerry of Mars Hill; six grandchildren Daniel Michaud and his wife Stacey, Courtney Griffin and her husband Patrick, Alex Crone and his wife Bethany, Heath Michaud, Madison Hannigan and her husband Thomas, Matteah Michaud and her boyfriend Caleb Desmond; twin great grandchildren Jacey and Gracelynn Crone; four brothers Gene Michaud and his wife Syliva of Presque Isle, Allen Michaud and his wife Mary of Mapleton, Edmund Michaud and his wife Carol, Harold Michaud and his wife Rosa all of Presque Isle; brother-in-law Ronald Legassie of Presque Isle; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents and his sister Sylvia Legassie.
A gathering will be held 1:00 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 23, 2016, at the Fairmont Cemetery, Presque Isle. Following the interment, a reception will be held at the Hampton Inn, Main Street, Presque Isle.
